Spring is nearly here with the tricking in of warmer temperatures and a bit of sunshine. It is almost officially t-shirt season, and we love nothing more than a basic tee. What makes a Livotte tee different? We have a few versions on the basic t-shirt, and they are all made with our signature fabric of 96% organic uncontaminated combed cotton and 4% Lycra. The cotton we use is knit with very long and smooth yarns from Europe which lends itself to a soft hand and washes beautifully. We also took the extra step by having it third party tested for pilling, colourfastness and shrinkage so we can promise that it lasts hundreds of washes in the machine. What could be better?!
At Livotte we love nothing more than a variation on the basic t-shirt and among our favourites are our short sleeve versions including Anne, Elle, Emma, and Megan as well as our long sleeve Melanie. Whether it’s basic white or a Breton stripe we offer a wide range of elevated basics to weave easily into every woman’s spring wardrobe. Most of have a crewneck which we find flattering for just about everyone. The clean round neck can be dressed up with a necklace or left on its own for a clean, basic and casual look.
For styling tips and ideas, below are 5 ways we love to style a basic tee to look chic and elevated. Remember that a basic t-shirt doesn’t always have to be basic, you can use it to dress down an otherwise serious outfit or as a blank canvas to style with a print or textured trouser or skirt you may want to hightlight.
1. Pair Megan with a denim or printed skirt with a statement necklace and a pair of metallic flats.
2. Wear Elle tied at the waist to emphasize an hourglass shape and pair with high waisted trousers and a casual yet cool sneaker from Adidas, Golden Goose or New Balance.
3. Melanie Breton looks adorable with a bandana around your neck and your favourite jeans and flats. Don’t forget a pair of gold earrings for a bit of shine around the face.
4. Emma is a square neck which is so chic worn with a pencil skirt and a pump for a sophisticated work look. We love the black Emma and an off-white/cream skirt and nude or black shoe.
5. Anne is our most basic and is perfect layered under a jacket of any kind-blazer, denim or leather -and can be flawlessly styled tucked into jeans or your favourite trousers.
